MERIT BADGE BASH!

Come all Boy Scouts!

Troop 233 of Leon Springs will be offering an opportunity for Boy Scouts to earn up to three (3) Merit Badges on Saturday the 3rd of December, 2016 at 0730 - 1545. Space is limited and on a first come first serve basis. There will be a cost of $10 per scout for food. If a scout wants to take the Cooking Merit Badge then there will be an additional cost of $8 per scout for supplies used during the class. Scouts will need to bring all prerequisites the day of the Merit Badge Bash (see below). You can sign up by filling out an application and sending copies of your Boy Scouts of America Health form parts A & B to scoutmaster@troop233.org.  Troop 233 is accepting secure online payments, cash, or check delivered at the start of the Merit Badge Bash.

Merit Badges

Citizen in Nation* (No Cost) Complete Requirement 2. Bring a note from an adult as proof.  Complete Requirement 3. Bring your articles or notes to class.  Complete Requirement 6. Be prepared to discuss in class.  Complete Requirement 8. Bring a copy of your letter(s) to class. 

Environmental Science* (No Cost) Complete Requirement 1. Bring your written section to class and be prepared to discuss.  Complete Requirement 2. Bring your written section to class and be prepared to discuss. Complete Requirement 3(e). Bring your report to class and be prepared to discuss. Complete Requirement 6. Bring your written section to class and be prepared to discuss.

Cooking*   ($8) Complete Requirement 4 a.  Bring your notes to class and be prepared to discuss.  5 a and b.  Bring your notes to class and be prepared to discuss 6 a and b.  

Emergency Preparedness* (No Cost) Bring verification that you earned the First Aid merit Badge.  Complete Requirement 2. Bring your notes to class and be prepared to discuss.  Complete Requirement 6. Complete Requirement 8. Be prepared to discuss in class. Bring your kit to class.  Complete Requirement 9b. Bring a letter from an adult as proof.  Bring your plan.

Photography (No Cost) Complete Requirement 2. Bring your written section to class.

Complete Requirement 4(b). Bring your display to class.

Inventing 
(No Cost) Complete Requirement 5, 6 a, b, and c, 7 (bring your invention), & one of requirement 8.

0730 Opening Ceremony
0800 – 0950 First Session
1000 – 1150 Second Session
1200 – 1300 Lunch
1300 – 1450 Third Session
1500 – 1545 Clean Up
1600 – 1800 Optional Service Project (Christmas Caroling)

Food:

The food included in the $10 fee:
  • Breakfast - 2 tacos and drink
  • Lunch – Hamburger, hot dog, chips, 2 cookies, and drink
- Addition snacks, food and drinks can be purchased if desired.

A Little About Us
Boy Scout Troop 233 is located in Northwest San Antonio (Leon Springs), Texas.  The troop is in the Alamo Area Council (583).

The Charter organization for Troop 233 is Leon Springs Presbyterian Church, 23943 IH-10 West, San Antonio, TX 78257 (210-698-2325).

Several schools are represented by scouts in the troop, including Leon Springs Elementary School, Aue Elementary School, Fair Oaks Ranch Elementary School, Boerne Middle School South, Rawlinson Middle School, Boerne-Champion High School, Clark High School, and TMI.  

Troop 233 is dedicated to developing leadership skills, outdoor skills, and moral character.  Membership is open to all boys who are 11 years old, or have completed the fifth grade, or earned the Arrow of Light Award and are at least 10 years old, but not yet 18 years old.  For more information, contact:
